"Let tyrants fear, I have always so behaved myself, that under God I have placed my chiefest strength and safeguard in the loyal hearts and goodwill of my subjects; and, therefore, I am come amongst you as you see at this time, not for my recreation and disport, but being resolved, in the midst and heat of battle, to live or die amongst you all - to lay down for my God, and for my kingdoms, and for my people, my honour and my blood even in the dust." --Queen Elizabeth I
GREAT INDUSTRIAL, FINANCIAL LEADERS
They led with their vision, they knew how to lead.
Napoleon's quote "Soldiers are meant to die" states the obvious. Soldiers in the armies of warlike men will die in war. Their bodies will die. Spirit never dies. As long as there is ignorance there will be division and hostility -- "us versus them" -- and with all due respect to soldiers, who are spiritual beings in their essence like all of us, their lives are essentially forfeit from the moment they sign up for duty, or in most cases long before that. One definition of "forfeit" is "a thing taken away as a penalty for making a mistake in a game, and redeemable by a specified action". Though he may or may not die, by agreeing to take part in hostility he has committed a crime by breaking The Law of Love, and his forfeit is in immediately losing his spiritual and eternal life, the essence of his Being, with the possible loss of his physical or temporal life later.
I offer a simple quote from a website. The debate over just war has been argued for centuries....I opposed the Soviets and their Allies for over two decades...one should consider the gulags...brain washing and forced drugging of the innocent, the poisons and toxins of the KGB...the torture chambers and the brutalization of whole populations....before taking a stand or making a generalization....or perhaps we should discuss the killing fields of Cambodia...sometimes evil must be opposed and those that do it pay a price...but they do it because the alternative is for the innocent to pay it instead....

Do not allow evil to triumph. Do not do sit by and do nothing. Stand up and be counted, speak up against evil and speak out against evil men and their sinful deeds.

Just and update on my trip to Curacao,
Just another update on my trip to Curacao, I have to note that a representative of Rev. Robertson was present spying at a meeting of representatives of a major international bank and major finaciers that I talked with while on the island. This represetative left a book about a terrorist major that was atttacking the United States oil infa-structure on behalf of Iran. The implied message was that he wanted me to cooordinate a guerilla attack agains the oil infa-structure of Venezula, I declined....
As I sit here watching hurricane Rito head into the Gulf, I think about the lists of men I drew up during operation Iraqi Freedom that were turned over to the interrogators some of which went into Abu Graib prison for special treatment.

Of course the patriotic propaganda of the warmonger puppetmasters' politicians persuades the soldier that he should risk his life to eliminate the "enemy threat"; this brainwashing of the soldier is quite easy because of the masses' lack of spiritual concept (primarily the belief that we are not all one), and because we are exposed to the confrontation and animosity of the ignorant from an early age. Along with ignorance comes fear of punishment by the authorities for resisting participation in war. The soldier may redeem his spiritual life by leaving military service at any cost; such is the way of the true warrior -- but the latter would not sign up in the first place. It is said that one should ensure that what one is living for is worth dying for. Soldiers die -- in their patriotic ignorance -- to satisfy the desires of warmongers and financial pirates.
When the majority of our children are taught a spiritual concept; when they learn that even the slightest deviation from The Law of Love has the most awful consequences; then warmongers' desires will find no satisfaction, and those who would be soldiers would know that it is not God's intention that they die, but the intention of their fellow "men", Napoleon Bonaparte et al. But where there are ignorant men, there will be warlords who use them to "advance" themselves. Spiritual and military leaders both recognize that the people are dummies, but only the former will not take advantage of this fact.

http://www.padfield.com/1997/goodmen.html
All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.” (Edmund Burke)
So much of the history of the struggle between good and evil can be explained by Edmund Burke's observation. Time and again those who profess to be good seem to clearly outnumber those who are evil, yet those who are evil seem to prevail far too often. Seldom is it the numbers that determine the outcome, but whether those who claim to be good men are willing to stand up and fight for what they know to be right. There are numerous examples of this sad and awful scenario being played out over and over again in the scriptures.
They Get Nothing Good Done
When good men do nothing, they get nothing good done. To be good, one must do good. The Lord commands his people to do good (Luke 6:35; Eph. 2:10). Christ "gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works" (Titus 2:14).
In the parable of the talents, Jesus described a man who did nothing. When he received his Lord's money, he "went and digged in the earth, and hid his Lord's money" (Matt. 25:18). When his Lord returned, he returned to the Lord just what he had been given (Matt. 25:25). Notice, the servant did not do any outright evil, such as stealing the money, but then neither did he do anything good. He did nothing and he got nothing good accomplished. Jesus said he was a "wicked and slothful servant" (Matt. 25:26).
Jesus rebuked the church at Laodicea for doing nothing. "I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked" (Rev. 3:15-17).
Too many Christians and too many churches do nothing. They are standing idly by, they are mere spectators. They sit on the sidelines instead of actively participating and working for the good. If good wins, they join in the celebration though they did nothing to produce the victory. If evil wins, they will complain long and loud though their own apathy helped produce the undesirable result.
When Jesus found a fig tree with "nothing thereon, but leaves only" He cursed the tree and "presently the fig tree withered away" (Matt. 21:19). What will He do with those who claim to be good and yet who do nothing? John the baptist warned, "And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire" (Matt. 3:10; John 15:2).
They Help Evil To Triumph
When good men do nothing, evil triumphs. Evil, sin and sinful men must be opposed. God commands those who are good, not just to avoid evil but actively oppose it.
Christians are to not only to "have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but (also) reprove them" (Eph. 5:11). Those who do nothing about sin and evil, help the sin and evil to prevail. One who is silent when there are those around him in sin becomes a partaker with them (Eph. 5:7).
In the days of Elijah, the silence of many had allowed the evil of Ahab and Jezebel to prevail throughout the land of Israel. "And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? If the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word" (1 Kings 18:21). The silence of the people spoke volumes of their indecisiveness and inaction. Their failure to stand up, speak up and speak out permitted wicked and evil men to run rampant.
Jesus told of a traveler who was robbed, beaten and left him half dead. The men who did this were wicked and did a very wicked thing. But the Levite and priest allowed this evil to continue unanswered by doing nothing as they each "passed by on the other side" (Luke 10:31-32). Fortunately for the traveler there was one man, a Samaritan, who was willing to stand up for what was right (Luke 10:33-36).
Jesus warned "He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad" (Matt. 12:30). In the fight against evil there is no middle ground, no gray area, no neutrality. Those who are not actively and vigorously fighting against evil are helping evil to triumph.
They Are No Longer Good
When good men do nothing, they are no longer good. Many have the mistaken notion that good is merely the absence of doing that which is wrong. Not so! One is good not merely because he does no evil, but because he is actively working for what is good. "Let him eschew evil, and do good" (1 Pet. 3:11). James explained, "Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin" (James 4:17).
The eldest of Israel, Reuben, knew his brothers' murderous plot against their younger brother Joseph was wrong. He started an attempt to deliver Joseph, but as he hesitated and vacillated, the other brothers sold Joseph into slavery. When Reuben heard what they had done, he realized his failure to act had helped to bring about this evil result.
Instead of correcting his error, Reuben sought to cover his guilt by agreeing with his brothers to lie to their father about Joseph's disappearance (Gen. 37:18-35). Reuben had "good intentions" and he was not even present when Joseph was sold into slavery, but he knew his inaction and absence made him just as guilty as the rest of his wicked brothers. This guilt continued to haunt him through the years (Gen. 42:21-22).
The prophet Obadiah severely condemned the Edomites for doing nothing when evil was befalling their brethren, the Jews. When Jerusalem was invaded by her enemies, the Edomites "stood on the other side" doing nothing but watching the slaughter as spectators. God said by their failure to act and to help their brethren "even thou wast as one of them" (Obad. 11).
Today, there are preachers and Christians who fail and refuse to meet the real foe, refute error and fight the enemy. Instead, they have turned to viciously savaging their own brethren. They are filled with bitterness and hatred and they maliciously attack, slander and misrepresent other Christians and gospel preachers.
Paul warned about such men and behavior among those professing to be Christians, "But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another" (Gal. 5:15). Those who engage in such behavior are spiritual cannibals.
While the conduct of these so-called Christians is shameful, what about those supposedly "good" men who do nothing? Those stand on the other side and do nothing but watch as their brothers are being slandered, slaughtered and devoured, they cease being innocent bystanders and idle spectators. Their failure to act not only allows evil to triumph, but makes them just as guilty as the spiritual cannibals they refuse to reprove and rebuke. In God's words, "even thou wast as one of them" (Obad. 11).
Conclusion
"Be not deceived; God is not mocked; for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap" (Gal. 6:7). Those who fail or refuse to do good in the face of evil are sowing some dangerous seeds. They are doing nothing good as Jesus commanded them to do; they are helping evil to win and have ceased being good and have become partakers of the evil they did nothing to stop.
Do not allow evil to triumph. Do not do sit by and do nothing. Stand up and be counted, speak up against evil and speak out against evil men and their sinful deeds.

the "problem" is we often don't know what good is, or what is godly, of God, or what the Gnostics called "The Good" ~ Lao Tzu said the person who tries to do good is not good ~ i interpret this as meaning good thoughts and their actions must originate from a state of Being or Divine Consciousness ~ too often our response to evil is to oppose it as if so doing would stop it ... the Irish proverb "Trampling on dung only spreads it more" applies.
too many martyrs have died opposing evil ~ in seeing evil, we become evil ~ people who represent the Law of Love pay no particular attention to evil or risk their lives opposing it ~ it is mainly an ancient Greek and Christian fallacy that "good is opposed to evil".
Christ said "resist not evil" and "turn the other cheek" ~ this concept is considered rubbish by many of us because of the fear of evil ~ the way that evil can potentially die out is when we realize that "peace at any price" is the only way, the Way of Life and Love ~ when we know "The Good" in us we do not allow ourselves to fall into the hands of the "powers that be" ~ Christ's crucifixion is purely symbolic ~ no advanced soul would allow themselves to be executed; their awareness and Self-created life circumstances would not allow it ~ the exoteric story of Christ's crucifixion was written to start a religion, knowing many followers would be in awe of such "sacrifice"; the esoteric meaning is that every man and woman is spiritually "crucified" for part or the whole or their life.
there's the Buddhist story of the 3 men and their responses to the fight in the pub ~ the first man hears the fight and dives right into the pub ~ the second man hears it but walks by the pub ~ the third man, symbolically "high on a hill", hears the fight from miles away and immediately starts walking leisurely in the opposite direction.

I agree Luxin. This is indeed the first step, that we do not buckle before evil by becoming evil, but fight it first with an awareness of it. When any human being or living thing is coerced, made to suffer, where does it come from? And when we are coerced, where does that come from? Awareness of it, and not fear of it, or buckling to it, but exposing it; that is our first defense. That is how we rise above evil, and conquer it.

As the troops pour in to New Orleans things are stabilizing. For a biref moment in time history will record how the drug dealers, gangs and depraved seized power in the after math of a disaster.
In the ruins of New Orleans pockets of civilization survived backed by police and military.
As the great dispora driven by the storm progresses we now have to think about how we are going to integrate these refugees into our society and economy.
As I look on the destruction of New Orleans I see what I spent one quarter of my life striving to prevent here and abroad.
I am among the few of the nuclear warriors along with my wife who used to hunt Russian Atomic submarines who understood what was going to happen as we are among the few that have been trained to wage nuclear war and survive its aftermath.
I was there when we trained ALbert Gore in Nuclear war and I am here as I watch a government under President Busch that let short sightedness force the best and brighest of us out of government service.
I read an article today that the storm has damaged the Gulf Coast to the point where it looks like the projections for 2050 from the effects of environmental degradation and Global Climate Change. Only now are we talking about restoring the salt marshes and the eco-system to needed to buffer the storms.

As a former senior United States Intelligence Officer I still from time to time get updates from my sources and connections on what is going on in the world.

In the case of Curacao besides being on vacation and getting and update on the internal situation in Venzulea and the surrounding area I was also busy resestablishing an independent intelligence network throughtout out the region along with a network to smuggle dissidents and opponents of Chavez out of country in conjuction with operations by foreign Embassies, Churches and intelligence services in an effort to preserve life from a maniac that has gone dellusional and thinks that he is the messiah of South America

Chavez: U.S. Plans to Invade Venezuela
Transcript: Hugo Chavez Interview - ABC News
WASHINGTON - Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said Friday he has documentary evidence that the United States plans to invade his country.
Chavez, interviewed on ABC's "Nightline," said the plan is called "Balboa" and involves aircraft carriers and planes. A transcript of the interview was made available by "Nightline."
He said U.S. soldiers recently went to Curacao, an island off Venezuela's northwest coast. He described as a "lie" the official U.S. explanation that they visited Curacao for rest and recreation.
"They were doing movements. They were doing maneuvers," Chavez said, speaking through a translator.
He added: "We are coming up with the counter-Balboa plan. That is to say if the government of the United States attempts to commit the foolhardy enterprise of attacking us, it would be embarked on a 100-year war. We are prepared."
Chavez has been attending the summit of world leaders at the United Nations in New York this week. On Thursday, he denounced the U.S.-led war in Iraq and told other leaders they should consider moving the U.N. headquarters out of the United States.
To prove U.S. intentions to invade Venezuela, Chavez offered to send "Nightline" host Ted Koppel maps and other documentation.
"What I can't tell you is how we got it, to protect the sources, how we got it through military intelligence," he said.
In the event of a U.S. invasion, Chavez said the United States can "just forget" about receiving any more oil from his country.
Having been in the region and seen the economic regression under Chavez and fear that the educated classes inside Venezulea live in I thought it was time something was done so I did it.

I also think about the cost of oil and the instability of Venezuela and Hugo Chavez and just how powerful and rich the people I spoke with on Curacao were. This included people that worked with and spoke routinely to the fourth richest man in the world.
Such is the things we do to stabilize the economy in the face of Global Climate change.
Having been in this buisiness a long time I know that sometimes accidents happen for a reason. If I was Hugo Chavez I think I would update my life insurance policy.
